Pueblo Workers’ Compensation Attorneys

If you were hurt on the job, you will have to be vigilant in order to receive the Workers’ Compensation benefits you deserve and need to fully recover from your accident.

Colorado Workers’ Compensation is designed to protect workers. Unfortunately, because it’s administered by private or public/private insurance companies primarily concerned with profits, it’s not always as straightforward as it should be.

What should Pueblo Workers’ Comp cover?

In the event of an on-the-job injury,  Workers’ Compensation should cover all of your medical bills resulting from the workplace accident, two-thirds of your weekly wage while you’re unable to work, and compensation for any permanent impairment or disfigurement, as well as other benefits.

Workers’ Compensation also provides death benefits to the families of workers who lose their lives while on the job.

What you have to do

In order to qualify for Colorado Workers’ Comp benefits, your injury must have occurred while you were at work or performing work functions for your employer.

Colorado law also requires that you report your injury in writing within four days of the incident. If you miss that deadline, you might still be able to make a claim. Discuss your options with one of our Pueblo Workers’ Comp attorneys.

Your employer will designate a particular doctor for Workers’ Compensation incidents, and you are required to see that doctor for an initial consultation. If you see a different physician, Workers’ Compensation might not cover your medical bills. The exception is emergency services for immediate threat to life or limb.
