Manitou Springs High School Students Win PSA Portion of Drive Smart Colorado High School Traffic Safety Challenge

2016 Drive Smart PSA WinnerCongratulations to Aubrey Hall and Mia Elliott from Manitou Springs High School! They produced the winning PSA for the 2015-2016 Drive Smart Colorado High School Traffic Safety Challenge. For winning, the students presented certificates and a $500 donation for their school from McDivitt Law Firm. Their prizes were presented to them during an awards luncheon on January 27, 2016 for all participating students. Starting February 1, 2016, Mia and Aubrey’s 30 second PSA will also air on broadcast and cable television in Southern Colorado for two weeks.

About their winning PSA, Mia said, “I really wanted to be the reason for the possible impact this could make, and I want to do that in whatever opportunity I have.” Aubrey added, “I wanted to help Mia out. Drive Smart is important. I’ve done a lot of still photography, and I wanted to get more into the film aspect of it.”

The PSA that Mia and Aubrey created stood out to the judges at McDivitt Law Firm for its creative portrayal of what it really means to get distracted while driving. Please check it out for yourself!

McDivitt Law Firm sponsors the PSA portion of the Drive Smart Colorado’s High School Traffic Safety Challenge each year to help raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving among local high schoolers. There were great entries this year that highlighted the all-too-common threat of texting while driving. McDivitt enjoyed viewing all of the PSA entries this year, and congratulates all the students who participated in the year’s Drive Smart High School Traffic Safety Challenge.
