McDivitt Law Firm offering free cab rides home in Colorado Springs and Pueblo the evening of Cinco de Mayo

COLORADO SPRINGS, Co., April 22, 2014 — McDivitt Law Firm will offer free cab rides home to those out celebrating Cinco de Mayo on Monday, May 5th, 2014, as part of its Safe Ride Home program.  People who have been drinking and do not have another way to get home safely can call Yellow Cab in Colorado Springs and City Cab in Pueblo between 10:00pm and 3:00am. Tell the driver it’s “On McDivitt”.

The True Costs of Driving Drunk CincoThe McDivitt Safe Ride Home program is an effort to keep the streets safe for everyone in our community on heavy drinking holidays. “We encourage everyone to just celebrate responsibly,” said David McDivitt, COO of McDivitt Law Firm. “We hope this program gives people an extra option when they plan how to get home safely on Cinco de Mayo.

McDivitt has been offering the program since 2007 and has given more than 18,000 safe rides home to residents of Southern Colorado since it began. The firm will pick up the tab for any Yellow Cab or City Cab ride, as long as the passengers are headed home – the free ride is not available from a bar or a restaurant to another drinking establishment. (See below for all the guidelines).

It’s on McDivitt!

For a free ride home, call one of the following cab companies and tell them your ride home is on McDivitt Law Firm:

  • Colorado Springs – Call Yellow Cab of Colorado Springs at (719) 777-7777.
  • Pueblo & Pueblo West – Call City Cab of Pueblo at (719) 543-2525.

Guidelines for a Safe Ride Home

The Safe Ride Home program is for adults who have been drinking or who don’t have another safe way home. Rides are provided to an individual’s residence—not to other drinking locations. Due to the high number of ride requests, rides cannot be guaranteed for everyone who calls; however, every attempt will be made to accommodate all requests. Drivers have the right to use their discretion when accepting fares. Patrons are reminded to tip their drivers accordingly.

McDivitt Wants Everyone to Get Home Safely

The professionals at McDivitt Law Firm work with clients who have been injured or lost loved ones in alcohol-related crashes. To assist in the fight against drunk driving, the firm encourages individuals to make responsible choices by providing free cab rides on St. Patrick’s Day, Cinco de Mayo, Halloween, and New Year’s Eve.

McDivitt Law Firm’s Safe Ride Home program continues to receive recognition from the community. In January 2012 and January 2013, U.S. Army Major General Joseph Anderson presented a certificate of recognition to the law firm. In September 2010, the firm was honored by the Pikes Peak DUI Task Force for its efforts to prevent drunk driving.
