McDivitt Law Firm to Provide Safe Rides Home on New Year’s Eve!

McDivitt Law Firm resumes Safe Ride Home Program, wants everyone to have an option for a free cab ride home New Year’s Eve 9:00pm to 3:00am

Colorado Springs, CO., December 27, 2022 — McDivitt Law Firm is excited to resume offering free cab rides home on New Years Eve. Since 2007, the personal injury law firm has been committed to keeping our roads safe by providing over 19,000 safe rides home. Due to COVID-19 and an interest in mitigating the spread of the virus, the program had to be suspended in 2020.

If you’re heading out to celebrate the New Year, McDivitt encourages you to have a plan for how you’ll get home. If you do not have a designated driver, or cannot arrange to have someone pick you up, please do not get behind the wheel. When it comes to drinking and driving you can never be too cautious. Simply hail a cab and McDivitt will pick up the bill.

“We’re trying to make the decision easy and accessible for someone who’s out drinking,” said attorney David McDivitt, COO of McDivitt Law Firm. “Please err on the side of caution. We will pay for your entire fare home. All you have to do is tell the driver it’s on McDivitt.”

The way it works is simple – if you or someone you know has had too much to drink on New Year’s Eve, contact a participating cab service. Call City Cab in Pueblo at 719-543-2525 or if you’re in Colorado Springs, call zTrip (formerly Yellow Cab) at 719-766-4567, or use the zTrip app to order a ride. If you use the zTrip app, make sure you mark “Pay in Car” at the time of booking. When you get in the cab, just tell your driver, “It’s on McDivitt.” Please note, these rides are only available between the drinking establishment and the customer’s home, not to another bar or restaurant.

The professionals at McDivitt Law Firm work with clients who have been injured or lost loved ones in alcohol related crashes. McDivitt team members have seen firsthand the destructive nature of drinking and driving; you can never be too careful.

For a safe ride home, call one of the following cab companies and tell them your ride home is on McDivitt Law Firm:

  • Colorado Springs – Call Yellow Cab of Colorado Springs at (719) 766-4567.
  • Pueblo & Pueblo West – Call City Cab of Pueblo at (719) 543-2525.

Guidelines for a Safe Ride Home

The Safe Ride Home Program is for adults who have been drinking or who don’t have another safe way home. Rides are provided to an individual’s residence—not to other drinking locations, between the hours of 9:00pm to 3:00am. Due to the high number of ride requests, rides cannot be guaranteed for everyone who calls; however, every attempt will be made to accommodate all requests. Drivers have the right to use their discretion when accepting fares. Patrons are reminded to tip their drivers accordingly.
