Don’t Make a Scary Decision this Halloween!

safe-ride-home-halloweenFor the seventh year in a row, McDivitt Law Firm is providing free cab rides to anyone who needs to get home safely after a night of celebration this Halloween. The Safe Ride Home program, which began in 2008, has offered more than 18,000 cab rides, and continues to support safety on our streets on four major drinking holidays each year.

On Friday, October 31st between the hours of 10:00pm and 3:00am, McDivitt will offer free cab rides home to those celebrating Halloween. The firm will pick up the tab for any ride from Yellow Cab in Colorado Springs or City Cab in Pueblo, as long as the passengers are headed home – the free ride is not available from a bar or a restaurant to another drinking establishment. (See below for all guidelines).

“We are proud to be able to continue offering our Safe Ride Home program in Southern Colorado to help keep our communities safe,” said Karen McDivitt, President of McDivitt Law Firm. “We want anyone who needs to take advantage of these rides to do so in the hopes that everyone will get home safely to their loved ones. Just let them know ‘It’s on McDivitt’.”

Guidelines for a Safe Ride Home

The Safe Ride Home program is for adults who have been drinking or who don’t have another safe way home. Rides are provided to an individual’s residence—not to other drinking locations. Due to the high number of ride requests, rides cannot be guaranteed for everyone who calls; however, every attempt will be made to accommodate all requests. Drivers have the right to use their discretion when accepting fares. Patrons are reminded to tip their drivers accordingly.

McDivitt Wants Everyone to Get Home Safely

The professionals at McDivitt Law Firm work with clients who have been injured or lost loved ones in alcohol-related crashes. To assist in the fight against drunk driving, the firm encourages individuals to make responsible choices by providing free cab rides on St. Patrick’s Day, Cinco de Mayo, Halloween, and New Year’s Eve.

McDivitt Law Firm’s Safe Ride Home program continues to receive recognition from the community. In January 2012 and January 2013, U.S. Army Major General Joseph Anderson presented a certificate of recognition to the law firm. In September 2010, the firm was honored by the Pikes Peak DUI Task Force for its efforts to prevent drunk driving.
